Yanick Sasseville

Montreal based Matter artist, it is only after finishing his studies in graphic design that Yannick Sasseville starts painting more conscientiously. For him, the image is not consider as an end, but as a way to convey emotions. The visual elements he uses from work to work is forms a world of his own. Sasseville works with “humble” materials and uses collage, scraping and tearing techniques. He won many prizes and awards, such as the vermeil medal of SAIBAN, edition 2000. It is during an artistic residency in Barcelona, in 2007, that he created his Collective Solitude series. His work can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, USA and Europe.
Together with Place Alexis-Nixon, ArtFeria proposes a panorama of Ibero-Latino-American and Quebec paintings. ArtFeria in Ville constitutes a showcase for great artists who invite us to join a trip replete of exotic and memorable atmospheres.
